August 2026 Update

August has been a surprisingly busy month. Usually, July and August are quiet on the conference front, but there has been lots to deal with. I had a meeting with the events team at the venue, and everything is as it should be.  A catch-up with Neil Kelso, as we talked about magic and had a few giggles. And of course, no trip to London would be complete without saying hello to Geraldine at the Atlantis Bookshop.

Weiser Books is on board as a conference sponsor and has sent lots of decks as giveaways. Over the next few weeks, I will be dreaming up competition ideas to share with you and an opportunity to win something fabulous.

I have some very exciting news.  The limited-edition Arcana 78, beautifully designed by the talented Chris Butler for the 2026 conference, has sold out. Due to the interest in this year’s conference subject, the Magicians of Tarot, we have decided to print a Second Edition. The box has been revamped, and so have the Pamela Colman Smith and Arthur Waite cards.  This is limited to just 50 decks and will be available at the conference.

The conference is SOLD OUT.  Once again, 100 lovely souls are coming together, some for the first time and, of course, old friends of the conference. I cannot wait to say hello to you all.    Of course, you can still join us virtually http://tarotconference.co.uk/booking/

As September approaches, I’ve got a long to-do list to make sure everything runs smoothly. Every year, I worry I’ll forget something, which reminds me to email everyone attending asking about food allergies.  If there were a Guinness World Record for Post-it notes, I’m sure I’d have it!

Finally, my Tarot by the Sea retreat in March 2027 has just one room left.  This year is going to be epic (as every year, but then I do put on a good event)!!

It has been a busy and interesting month.  Martin retires at the end of July, and this has actioned many ‘goodbye’ events, firstly from his team in Edinburgh, Scotland.  I flew up for a few days and took the train from Edinburgh to Glasgow to have tea with Marion Kirk.   Glasgow is a beautiful city,…

You would think six months prior to a fully sold-out conference life would be easy. If anything, it is picking up pace. I honestly don’t know where the time goes. My priority is always the conference, as you know the in person event is sold out, and I have been following up with emails checking that…

The December Newsletter is always a moment of reflection for me, a time to look back on the year and evaluate the highs and lows. This year’s conference was arguably one of the best we’ve had since the pandemic. And while there were a few behind-the-scenes stresses, it’s essential that all of you see only…
