October 2026 Update

UK Tarot Conference 2026

No words or thank-you could ever fully capture the generosity and beauty of the tarot community at its best. This year’s conference was special in so many ways.

Maybe it was partly the theme, as we shone a light on Tarot’s original influencers: pioneers such as Pamela Colman Smith and A. E. Waite, whose contributions continue to shape modern decks. This year’s conference celebrated their legacy with inspiring workshops and plenty of opportunities to connect with our cards.

The exhibition space introduced in 2025 was very successful; Sophie McKay Knight crafted an exhibition using the theme of alchemy,  focussing on women of magic dating back centuries. Sophie opened the conference, leading a workshop in which we created our own Tarot card using the interpretations of alchemy.

All our speakers were an inspiration, from Sasha Graham, who led a fantastic interactive workshop, to Geraldine Beskin of The Atlantis Bookshop, who took us through the history of the men in Tarot.  Such diversity this year, as we jumped between using our cards and sitting quietly as we drank in the history of Tarot from the experts.

We enjoyed wonderful presentations by Susan Wands and Titania Fae, who brought Pamela Colman Smith’s legacy to life. With this year’s theme centred on the Magician, it was only fitting to have a magician of our own, Neil Kelso.

Our inspiring speakers reminded us of the many ways we can interpret and use the cards. We’re also incredibly fortunate to have Chris Butler, who painted a beautiful portrait of Pamela Colman Smith, which was auctioned to raise funds for the UK Tarot Conference Bursary Fund.

A mention to our other speakers, Carrie Paris, James Jude, Jessica Adams, Liz Dean, Kate May, Jill Dawson and Barbara Karnekamp, who also shared beautiful presentations. Plus, a mention of the video I shared at the opening of the conference; you can find the link here: https://youtu.be/P23KnpxNmk0

The theme for 2027 is a Melody of Majors; each speaker will be asked to bring a workshop to life and concentrate their interpretation on a major arcana card.  I cannot wait!
