March 2025 Update

My ‘Tarot by the Sea’ retreat is just weeks away, I have written new workshops, including one on Shadow work, this is not something I use much, however, as the words flowed, I realise how important understanding shadow energy is.   Exploring our emotions and uncovering what holds us back through shadow work can be incredibly liberating when we delve into the depths of our issues.  I love writing workshops and creating new spreads it feels like I am rediscovering Tarot again like my enthusiastic 17-year-old self did all those years ago.

I had a great day out with Steven Bright last week, visiting the London Book Fair reconnecting with my publisher friends, and securing our goodie bag contents for the 2025 conference.  We then moved on to the Tarot exhibitions at The Atlantis Bookshop and the Warburg Institute, I believe these are both winding up in April, if you get a chance to get yourself to London, go have a look.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve surely heard that we’ve unveiled the lineup for the 2025 UK Tarot Conference! Each of our speakers is renowned for their expertise and deep understanding of tarot, with creativity evident in everything they do. This year, I’m particularly excited to present a diverse array of voices from around the globe, bringing their unique approaches to teaching.   We’ve gathered prominent figures from both East and West, and I’m thrilled to introduce you to some names you might not recognise (yet), I tapped into my instincts to bring this lineup together to celebrate our final major arcana card, The Fool. Having speakers from other countries will undoubtedly enrich our understanding of the cards. I take pride in showcasing exceptional talent in the tarot community, and I’m confident you’ll find this year’s speakers inspiring.

We welcome: Elliot Adam, Andrea Aste, Geraldine Beskin, Davide de Angelis, Laetitia Barbier, Tree Carr, Suzanne Corbie, Karen Currie, Crystal Mannara, Letao Wang.

There are more surprises to come, but you will have to wait!   Just by chance this weekend we have sold 78 tickets, I always see this number as a good omen for the conference.

If you are planning to stay at the venue, can I suggest you compare our special rate (£180 single and £200 double with breakfast) with https://www.trivago.co.uk/ you may get a better deal.

I have a really busy few weeks ahead, but looking forward to sharing all my news in April. I may even share one of two new ventures hovering in the background, it is all very exciting!

March was a whirlwind. Each year, I attend the London Book Fair with Steven Bright, other than a good catch-up with Steven, the visit is primarily to reconnect with publisher friends and to secure items for the UK Tarot Conference goodie bags. I’m aware that I’ve set a high standard for these goodie bags—arguably the…

It has been a busy and interesting month.  Martin retires at the end of July, and this has actioned many ‘goodbye’ events, firstly from his team in Edinburgh, Scotland.  I flew up for a few days and took the train from Edinburgh to Glasgow to have tea with Marion Kirk.   Glasgow is a beautiful city,…

  • June 2026 Update

On June 6th, I had the pleasure of hosting a one-day Tarot event, held near my home in Canterbury, Kent. After months of pondering themes, I realised that sticking with the title—UK Tarot Conference—was perfectly fine.  Having hosted the Tarot conference for 23 years, I believe the name is well-established and stands strong on its own….

I’m currently preparing for my Canterbury event on June 6th.  As I do my homework, I find myself thinking about my school days when trips to the cathedral were part of the curriculum. I must admit, I found all the historical details quite boring back then. However, gaining a deeper understanding of the religious and…

2025 has had an interesting start and I am hoping the Hermit year improves. After a bout of flu which I passed on to the family (you are welcome), the grandchildren both got chicken pox, I have had this twice in my life which is apparently unheard of but thankfully I escaped the spotty disease!…

  • January 2024 Update

The first thing I did as we entered 2024 was to contact potential speakers and venue.  It is important to me that venue contracts are signed, and speakers lined up early in the year, that way I can breathe but still have plenty of room to play with if there are any hiccups along the…
