Many years ago, I purchased two original prints by Pamela Colman Smith, they were exhibited between 1903 and 1907 in New York at the Little Galleries, owned by Alfred Stieglitz. The prints are from the Book: The Golden Vanity and The Green Bed.

I have been asked for years to offer prints of these two iconic pictures, and this year to mark the 20th @UKtarotconference I had 25 of each printed by the wonderful professionals at @margateartprintingservice Quite a few sold at the conference but there are a few left if you want to own your own piece of PCS. They come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Who or what is an expert… Is it someone who has been working at something for a long time and knows what they are talking about, or has studied hard, own a certificate to say they are… I have read and seen things on social media over the last couple of weeks which have made my blood boil. Statements written as fact, which I know are b*ll*cks.

The truth is if you can say something with enough confidence, then people are more likely to believe you. One person (apparently an expert) was giving advice here on IG which made no sense at all, in fact what she was saying was downright insulting, please think about what comes out of your mouth when you are spouting to a large following. I know you have a book to plug but be careful of what you are suggesting to those who are new to a subject, without thinking you could be doing more harm than good.

Also, have you ever thought about the people on IG who have thousands of followers and get 20+ likes on a post? What’s that all about, I shall say no more except don’t be fooled by impressive followings unless the posts back it up with numbers.

This weekend we took our little grandson Albie to the Hornby centre @officialhornby @thewonderworksmargate just a 15-minute drive from our house.

I remember as a child my brothers playing with Scalextric and train sets from the Hornby factory, of course in those days, most boys had toys from this iconic maker. We heard through the grapevine that the factory has revamped its visitors centre, well I can confirm they have. A bright modern interactive centre, with lovely staff living the dream ‘playing’ with trains and helping the children put the cars back on tracks. It was such a good hour or so we spent there, Albie loved it, so did @martinarnold2577 who when my back was turned appeared at the checkout with boxes higher than his head. Yes, he is reliving his youth it seems!

Local attractions often get overlooked when they are on your doorstep, when we lived in London we took so much for granted, if you have a local attraction that you have never visited I urge you to go and see what the fuss is all about, like us, you may well be happily pleased that you did.

34 years ago today, I had given birth at 2.22am to my son Alexander @xanderarnold. I remember as he entered the world the first thing I did was look at the clock. I knew as soon as I would be able, I would be getting his astrology chart sorted!

Life was very different then, we were living in South London, and over the next few years life would change dramatically, we moved from our flat into a house which ended up being haunted. This is a long story and a time when I realised my new baby was able to see the ghostly goings on that I could see. We didn’t stay in that house long and it was because of this, we ended up moving to Kent to be near my family.

Alexander was to be an only child, completely adored and cherished by us, spoilt, yes of course, but I am so proud of the man he has become. Have a wonderful birthday my lovely boy. 💙

I am often asked what the most memorable part of the conference is, for me it is the people, the loyalty of so many who join us year in and year out and have become good friends. I love it when I stand in the foyer of day one, and faces appear through the door beaming with huge smiles as we reconnect after a year apart, honestly it is sometimes unbelievable that a whole year has past by.

The speakers who share their wisdom must be part of my memorable moments, as a professional teacher and reader I always come away with new ideas, and after 30 odd years of reading cards, still stunned at how much more there is to learn.
