September 2024 Update

We’re almost there! The countdown to the 21st UK Tarot Conference has begun, and I’m now counting down days instead of months. I won’t lie—sleepless nights are starting to creep in as I double-check everything in my mind, making sure I haven’t overlooked a single detail. There’s just so much to remember!

Unlike most conferences around the globe that have a team handling various aspects of the event, it’s just me running the UK Tarot Conference. I’m not quite sure how it continues this way, but I hate asking for help, it’s my nature to be in control of my event, and I know that if I do it myself, it will meet my high standards. That said, I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my husband Martin, and my friend Liz, who are incredibly supportive and hands-on during the event.

As I look at the boxes piling up in my storage space, I can’t help but appreciate the generosity of the publishers. While most publishers send a mix of decks, which can sometimes lead to a goodie bag containing something not to your taste, I have a suggestion for this year: consider the goodie bag has chosen you, it may contain a deck out of your comfort zone but give it a try! As someone who reviews decks, I often find myself making snap judgments based on the title or cover. Ironically, the ones I expect to dislike often turn out to be the ones I enjoy working with the most!

The theme of The World carries on as we receive a thoughtful notebook gift for all attending from our Tarot friend, Pongpunt Wongnongteoi from Thailand. I am genuinely touched by the kindness of so many amazing tarot friends whom I have never met in person, but they support us willingly.

This year’s chosen song to accompany the conference judged by Neil Kelso was sent in by Annemarie Uittenbogaard from Holland who suggested “On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons. Neil our fab judge talks about how this song feels inspired by many music traditions from around the world – African, Latin, Caribbean, Celtic, Japanese Taiko, and more, giving a real global unity. Plus the upbeat harmonies feel like a bright joyous coming-together and a triumphant arrival after a journey – it all connects powerfully with inclusive wholeness symbolised in The World card.

We have a few VIT boxes (Very Important Tarot) available for those not attending the conference, you can scroll down here for details.

Everyone attending will receive an ‘All you need to Know’ email from me about a week before the conference, and if you are joining us virtually, look out for an email a few days before the event with all the information you need for a wonderful Tarot experience. Virtual tickets are available here.

This is the last NEWS update before the conference, you can keep updated with the event by joining our Facebook page ‘UK Tarot Conference Group’, or IG @uktarotconference.

See you on the otherside!
