April 2025 Update

After what felt like an eternity waiting for the calendar to turn into April for the Tarot by the Sea retreat, it suddenly arrived.

The venue in Ramsgate changed ownership at Christmas, and a new events team took over. There was a period of chaos that left me feeling uncertain about their readiness for our arrival. Nonetheless, they exceeded all my expectations and truly went above and beyond for us.

This retreat was designed to be a small, intimate gathering, 16 of us in all, and as it happened, turned out to be a perfect number (despite its Tower implications).  It is hard to describe the connections made in an environment like this. The atmosphere is relaxed, as we dived into deep tarot readings, meditations, sound baths, and ensured there was plenty of time to chat and be sociable.  The weather was glorious, perfect for sea walks and casting spells (yes, magick was at play).  It is hard to describe the energy in words, all I can say is it was very special, and 2026 is already in the diary!   Next year, a different location, with new energy, but somewhere in Kent, far too much esoteric history to venture beyond, so watch this space for details.

My attention now turns to the UK Tarot Conference. Thursday evening preconference gathering is now full.  The programme is currently being proofread before it goes to the printers, and soon I will announce the full schedule.  As always, there will be surprises in store, these will be revealed closer to the event.  The workshops are inspiring. The Fool is such a great card to work with, so much potential working with his energy.

With Easter on the horizon, it is a perfect time to create an ‘Intention spread’.

Set an Intention:  Take a moment to focus on your intention for the reading. What aspects of your life do you want to reflect on during this Easter season?

Shuffle and Draw: Shuffle your tarot deck while keeping your intention in mind. Lay as many cards as you feel is intuitively right for you (ideally between 3 and 5).

Interpret the Cards: Take your time to interpret each card in the context of your question.

Reflect:  To finish, reflect on how the messages from the cards can guide you and how you can embrace renewal and rebirth in your life.

Have a wonderful Easter, even if it is just an excuse to overindulge in chocolate!

Just back from a Mediterranean cruise, I’ve developed a habit of searching out Tarot shops wherever I travel. Dubrovnik, apparently has quite an active Tarot scene, and I had my heart set on visiting a specific shop I’d researched beforehand. After walking in circles trying to find it, it was closed when I arrived!!!! Peering…

You would think six months prior to a fully sold-out conference life would be easy. If anything, it is picking up pace. I honestly don’t know where the time goes. My priority is always the conference, as you know the in person event is sold out, and I have been following up with emails checking that…

July is typically a quiet period for our conference preparations, aside from following up with attendees who have been holding a ticket on deposit I took the opportunity to take a break with my family and enjoyed a wonderful 7-day stretch of sunshine in Marbella (what is going on with our weather)? As life has…

  • November 2025 Update

November tends to be a slow month for work, which I deliberately chose. I close my books to focus on things I’ve neglected. Right now, I’m going through my Tarot collection—some decks date back decades, and I honestly don’t know what to do with everything. I’ve accumulated over 100 books and more than 300 decks,…
