I was very surprised when I opened the box of the Classic Tarot as my preconception of them was that they were another whimsical deck, however,  I absolutely love these cards, so much so, I am going  to start using them for my professional readings.  I cant remember when I last said that!

The borderless cards are colourful and based on the Rider Waite deck.  Each card has more of a story than the traditional RW, there is real depth in the cards.  The Synopsis in the excellent  companion book states ‘focusing on both the classic and twenty-first century interpretations of tarot, the Llewellyn’s Classic Tarot, a new yet faithful rendering of the Rider-Waite system’.

I pulled a card for the day and got the Three of Pentacles, the companion book gives clear meaning of keywords, reversed cards and a section of the symbols,  so if you are an intuitive reader you can learn the greater meaning of the cards and the symbolism.    Just for the record, I have had a Three of Pentacles day today, planning and fruitfulness of up and coming projects.

I have always been an avid fan of RW based cards, if you are also, I highly recommend these both for beginners and RW fans who want a modern version of these lovely cards.
